About the Role
BHP's Western Australia Iron Ore rail business is looking for a Specialist Rail Trainer based at Port Hedland on an 8/6 FIFO roster. You will design, deliver and assess training for the rail maintenance workforce that keeps one of the world's largest private rail networks moving iron ore from the Pilbara mines to port. Key Responsibilities
- Design, deliver and assess competency-based training programs for rail maintenance teams
- Conduct competency assessments and keep training records and schedules up to date
- Develop and maintain training materials
- Coach and mentor team members to build workforce capability
- Work with operational leaders to identify development opportunities
- Support training compliance and governance across the rail maintenance function

About You
- Experience delivering competency-based training, ideally with an operational background in rail maintenance or another heavy industry
- Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011 or TAESS00019) or equivalent; a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is an advantage
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Sound understanding of training compliance and governance
- Able to work an 8/6 FIFO roster to Port Hedland
