Moranbah FIFO Jobs

Moranbah sits in the middle of the Bowen Basin coal fields, about two hours inland from Mackay. Several of the largest metallurgical coal mines in the country are within an hour of town, and the villages that house their FIFO crews are some of the biggest camps in Australia.

The jobs

Mine roles cover open cut operators, drill and blast, fixed plant, trades and supervision, plus underground crews at the longwall mines. The villages hire facilities attendants, cleaners, chefs and kitchen staff. Civeo, which runs several of the Moranbah area villages, has listed facilities roles on this board on a 14:7 roster with both FIFO and DIDO options.

Getting there

Moranbah has its own airport with charter and commercial flights from Brisbane. DIDO is common from Mackay, Rockhampton and Townsville. Coal mine work needs a Standard 11 and a coal board medical; camp work does not, though a police check and a medical are normal.
