Tanami FIFO Jobs

-

The Tanami is the desert country between Alice Springs and the Kimberley, and the gold mine out there is one of the most isolated workplaces in the country. There is no town. Everyone is FIFO, flying in on charters from Perth, Darwin and Alice Springs, and the village is the only place to live.

What that means

Rosters are long, commonly 2:1 or 2:2, because of the travel involved. The mine is underground and it is one of the deeper operations in Australia, so the demand is for underground operators, jumbo and production drill operators, charge-up crews, fitters and electricians, and processing plant staff. The village needs chefs, cleaners and utilities the same as any other site.

If you have not worked underground before, read the underground mining page first. It explains what the entry level roles look like. When the Tanami page is empty, the all jobs page lists everything on the board.
