McKinlay FIFO Jobs

McKinlay Shire covers a stretch of north west Queensland between Cloncurry and Winton, and it is home to several copper and gold mines that run entirely on FIFO crews. The nearest towns are small, so almost everyone flies in on a charter from Townsville, Cairns or Brisbane and lives in the mine village during the swing.

What the work involves

The operations here are a mix of open pit and underground, so the jobs cover operators, drill and blast, underground miners, fitters and electricians, processing plant crews and the camp staff who keep the village fed and clean. Rosters are typically 2:1 or 14/7.
