British Columbia's fly-in fly-out work sits in the north of the province: the copper and gold mines in the Golden Triangle near Stewart, the coal mines of the Peace River region, and the copper operations in the interior. Crews fly in from Vancouver, Smithers, Terrace or Prince George and live in camp on rotations of two to four weeks.

What employers expect

Canadian mine sites ask for their own safety certifications, such as a mine rescue or surface mining basics course depending on the operation, and for a valid Canadian work permit or residency.
