About the Role
Sandvik Mining is hiring a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic for its field service team in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. This is a full-time, permanent role on a 14-14 fly-in fly-out schedule, which Sandvik notes is subject to change. You will troubleshoot, repair and maintain surface mining equipment at customer sites and help commission new machines. The posting closes on 19 November 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment for proper performance and find faults and malfunctions
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
- Test repaired equipment to confirm it performs properly
- Commission new equipment
- Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports and parts lists
- Take part in continuous improvement and follow site safety practices, including a Take 5 before each task
About You
- Relevant trade certification, with Red Seal considered an asset
- At least 3 years of experience with mining equipment is an asset
- Common Core training is an asset
- Strong reading of hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to mine sites across Canada
