FIFO Warehouse and Stores Jobs

-

A mine site warehouse holds the spare parts, consumables and PPE that keep the operation going, and the storeperson is the one who receives it, puts it away, issues it to the crews and keeps the system accurate. It is steady, indoor-ish work on a FIFO roster and it suits people coming from logistics, retail or a workshop.

What employers ask for

A forklift licence (LF) is close to essential, and an HR licence helps for delivering parts around site. Employers want experience with an inventory system, often SAP or Pronto, and comfort with cycle counts and stock accuracy. A manual driver's licence, police clearance and medical are standard. Dangerous goods handling and a first aid certificate come up on some sites.

Who has listed here

MACA has listed a storeperson for its Duketon South operation on a 2:1 roster from Perth. Larger mining companies run inventory teams on 8/6 or 7/7 rosters depending on the site.
