FIFO Civil and Construction Jobs
Mines, ports, railways and the new wave of renewables projects on mining leases are all built by FIFO construction crews. The work is civil earthworks, concrete, structural and mechanical erection, pipelines, and the power lines that tie it together. Projects run for months or years, hire in numbers, and then finish, so the jobs are often fixed term.
What employers ask for
A white card is the minimum. Beyond that it depends on the role: concreters and formworkers want trade experience, pipelayers want the relevant tickets, plant operators want their RII units, and labourers want fitness, a manual licence and a willingness to learn. Working at heights and confined space are commonly required. Employers hiring for a specific project state the project length in the listing.
Who has listed here
GenusPlus Group has listed HC truck drivers for a mine site power project in WA on a 2:1 roster from Perth. Contractors building on BHP, Rio Tinto and Fortescue leases advertise crews on their own careers sites, which is where the apply links on this board go.
Trades within construction are on their own pages: carpenters, electricians and riggers and scaffolders.
