Welding Supervisor (Boilermaker) | Barrow Island | 2/2 FIFO

About the Role

Downer's Industrial and Energy team is looking for an experienced Welding Boilermaker Supervisor on Barrow Island, off the Pilbara coast. The work starts with replacing key wastewater treatment assets and then moves into a major corrosion remediation program, working closely with Chevron and the project stakeholders. The role is FIFO from Perth on a 2:2 roster. Applications close on 6 November 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise welding on tank replacement and corrosion remediation work
• Make sure all welding meets the approved WPSs, project specifications and standards
• Coordinate weld inspections, NDT and quality paperwork
• Track welding productivity, quality and project progress
• Lead and mentor welding crews with hands-on technical guidance
• Keep weld traceability and inspection records up to date
• Take part in daily, weekly and project progress meetings
• Drive safe execution of all hot work

About You

• A trade qualification as a boilermaker or fabricator
• AS 2214 or WTIA Welding Supervisor certification, which is essential
• At least ten years in heavy industrial, mining, energy, infrastructure or oil and gas projects
• Front line management or welding supervisor training
• Proven experience supervising coded welding and running NDT programs
• Able to read fabrication drawings, weld maps and specifications
