About the Role

PYBAR, a Thiess company, needs an experienced underground electrician to support its Raise Bore Division at the Prominent Hill copper and gold mine in South Australia's far north. This is a full-time position on a 14 days on, 14 days off roster, with flights, accommodation and meals covered. You will work on your own and as part of the crew, keeping raise bore and underground mining equipment running safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on raise bore and underground mining equipment
  • Diagnose and fix electrical faults on mobile and fixed plant
  • Inspect, test and repair electrical systems so equipment stays reliable and compliant
  • Do preventive maintenance to keep downtime low and availability high
  • Keep service records, maintenance reports and inspection paperwork accurate
  • Work safely to site procedures, statutory requirements and company policy
  • Work with operations and maintenance teams to hit production targets

About You

  • A relevant electrical licence
  • Proven experience working in an underground mine, which is essential
  • Good written and spoken communication and a team-first attitude
  • A strong focus on safety
  • A current Australian driver's licence
  • A current national police clearance, or willingness to get one, plus references and a pre-employment medical
