About the Role

PYBAR, a Thiess company, is looking for experienced underground heavy vehicle fitters for its Eloise and Jericho copper projects near Cloncurry in north west Queensland. The role is full time on a 2:2 FIFO roster, with flights from major Queensland airports and meals and accommodation included. You will maintain and repair the underground fleet, working on your own and alongside a supportive maintenance crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on underground mining equipment, including CAT and Volvo machines and Sandvik drill rigs
  • Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs to a high standard
  • Work safely to site procedures and PYBAR's safety standards
  • Work with the operations and maintenance crews to keep the fleet available

About You

  • A diesel fitter trade qualification, which is essential
  • Hands-on experience with Sandvik underground drill rigs, which is essential
  • Proven experience on underground heavy equipment, including CAT and Volvo gear
  • Good written and spoken communication and a positive team attitude
  • A strong focus on safety
  • A current Australian driver's licence
  • A current national police clearance, or willingness to get one, plus references and a pre-employment medical
