Environmental Advisor – Solar Farm – FIFO – Mount Isa

UGL is a leader in Australia’s energy transition, delivering largescale solar and battery projects end‑to‑end, having installed 13 utility-scale solar farms nationwide. The HSE Advisor will support a new project that extends existing Mount Isa solar assets.

The project builds on UGL’s earlier work in Mount Isa, which was successfully completed in 2021. Thew new project is a greenfield extension, connecting into an existing live solar farm, creating an interesting mix of new construction and brownfield interfaces.

About the role

As an Environmental Advisor, you’ll support site delivery on a largescale renewable energy project, ensuring environmental compliance is maintained across all construction activities.

You’ll work closely with project teams, contractors and supervisors. This role is hands‑on with a strong focus on environmental risk management, documentation, site inspections and supporting environmentally responsible work practices in line with UGL’s Environmental Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day environmental support across site activities.
• Support implementation of Construction Environmental Management Plans and related procedures.
• Conduct environmental site walks and inspections, identifying risks and improvement actions.
• Assist with environmental incidents, investigations and corrective actions.
• Manage environmental documentation, reporting and regulatory compliance in line with UGL systems.

About you

• Experience working as an Environmental Advisor on construction or heavy industry projects (renewables, power, mining, oil & gas or similar).
• Degree or tertiary qualification in Environmental Management or a related field.
• Willing to FIFO on a 10/4 roster and travel via Brisbane for early flights to Mount Isa.
• A sound knowledge of environmental legislation and requirements.
