ABOUT CANNINGTON 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 7:7 roster, day shift only, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

As the Trades Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the Mechanical Maintenance team, assisting with operations and tasks in both surface and underground settings to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance activities.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Assisting with the management of maintenance work orders and data in SAP
• Supporting the team in the development of procedures, plans, and work instructions
• Maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping standards in work areas
• Assisting with the management of spare parts and inventory control

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Working safely and following health & safety protocols
• Supporting maintenance teams in practical tasks
• Managing work orders and data entry
• Handling inventory and spare parts efficiently
• Showing initiative and a strong willingness to support the team

Qualifications for this position are: 

• First Aid and CPR (or a willingness to obtain)
• C Class Drivers licence (manual)
• High Risk Forklift (desirable)
