The Opportunity
We are seeking a committed Workshop Supervisor to join our team, reporting directly to the Workshop Superintendent. In this key role, you will manage the Haulage maintenance operations at the Onslow Iron, Upper Cane site. Your leadership will ensure effective labour management, facilitate smooth day-to-day operations, and drive safe, cost-efficient asset maintenance while striving to reduce equipment downtime.

This is a permanent, full-time position on a rotating 8D 6RR 7N 7RR roster.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure strict compliance with MinRes Safety & HSEQT procedures.
• Organise and supervise the daily tasks of workshop staff.
• Lead and support a team that includes Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Auto Electricians, Boilermakers, and Trade Assistants.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance and repair works for the Kenworth C509 road trains.
• Inspect completed work, carrying out thorough quality assessments.
• Inspire and motivate your team to achieve peak productivity and performance.
• Implement and oversee preventative maintenance initiatives to reduce the risk of equipment breakdowns.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance fleet efficiency and operational outcomes.

What is required?

• Proven background in a similar supervisory role, managing and coordinating multiple trade disciplines.
• Experience in scheduling and coordinating warehouse logistics within a mining environment.
• Holds a relevant trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical, recognised in Australia.
• Possesses a current Section 44 or Section 26.
• Deep understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and diagnostic procedures.
• Outstanding leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to perform well under pressure.
• Previous experience using Fleet Maintenance software will be highly regarded.

Onslow Iron Project – Ken’s Bore
Onslow Iron is one of the largest iron ore projects under development in Australia, set to unlock billions of tonnes of stranded deposits in the West Pilbara region. Underpinning the project is the innovative supply chain including modular crushers, a 150km private, dedicated haul road, and transhippers. At the Ken’s Bore Resort, we’ve set a new standard for FIFO accommodation with 45 square metres of living space – three times the size of traditional FIFO rooms – each equipped with a queen size bed, ensuite, kitchenette, big screen TV and private laundry.
