ABOUT GEMCO  

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 15% of the world's manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

 ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 7:7 Day / Night shift roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.

As the Supervisor Overburden you will be responsible for leading frontline production teams in the safe and efficient execution of the overburden mining plan, supporting HSEC performance, volume delivery and continuous improvement.

Key deliverables for the role are, but aren’t limited to:

• Providing on-the-ground supervision to ensure safe, accurate execution of daily plans
• Collaborating with planning, logistics & HSEC to meet operational targets
• Coaching team members to develop skills, confidence & safe work behaviours
• Supporting compliance with critical controls, safety standards & site procedures

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• 5+ years leading teams in fast-paced operational environments with a focus on safety
• Providing clear direction and feedback to support individual & team growth
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve challenges and deliver outcomes
• Promoting continuous improvement and a positive, inclusive team culture

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Holding or working towards S1, S2, S3 Supervisor competencies as per site requirements
• High School certificate and relevant certificates that are required for respective work discipline in local jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated oral and written English language proficiency.
