Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a permanent position on a 4:3, 4:3, 8:6 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns. Domestic relocation assistance to Darwin or Cairns from anywhere in Australia is provided.
As the Safety & Training Superintendent, you are responsible for the development, governance, and continuous improvement of GEMCO’s safety management standards, procedures, tools, and programs to enable the operations to effectively manage safety risk. Provide coaching and specialist support to senior and operational leadership teams to embed changes and maintain compliance.
