Longhole Operator

Barminco has successfully tendered for the exciting Bellevue Gold Project located approximately 40km north-east of Leinster in Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields region. Operated by Bellevue Gold Limited, Bellevue is one of Australia’s highest-grade underground gold mines, achieving commercial production in 2024 and positioned for significant long-term growth.  

This major underground operation combines industry-leading mining practices with a strong sustainability focus, including a hybrid renewable energy power station designed to supply more than 80% of the site’s power requirements through renewable energy sources.

About the Role  

As part of this project, Barminco is seeking experienced and motivated Long Hole Drillers to join the team on a full-time basis, working a 7/7 or 14/14 FIFO roster. These roles are integral to delivering safe, productive and efficient underground mining operations at the Bellevue Gold Mine while contributing to the continued success and expansion of the Bellevue Gold Mine.  

Your role will support underground production within a high-performing team focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement. 

  
 What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like?  

• Operate Sandvik DL432i long hole drill rigs to drill production and blast holes accurately  

• Read and follow drill plans, markings, and survey instructions  

• Conduct pre-start checks, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting on drilling equipment  

• Work with shotfirers, service crews, and supervisors to ensure safe and efficient blast preparation  

• Maintain safe work areas, manage hazards, and follow underground safety procedures  

• Record drilling data and report equipment or operational issues to supervisors  

Our Ideal Candidate Background Includes  

• Previous experience as a Long Hole Drill Operator

• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow detailed mine plans

• Strong understanding of underground mining processes and safety standards  

• Ability to lead, coach and mentor both experienced and new to industry operators    

•  All valid and relevant qualifications, certificates and licences (RPL's)  

• Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to, Medical, DAS, NPC & valid Manual Driver's Licence)
