Mine villages are run like large regional hotels, and the operators hire hospitality people to match: dining room and bar attendants, guest services and reception staff, airport attendants who meet the charter flights, and the supervisors and village managers above them. It is the most accessible way into FIFO for people from cafes, hotels and pubs.
What employers ask for
A responsible service of alcohol certificate for bar roles, a police clearance, the medical, and a manual driver's licence for anything involving the airport bus or site vehicles. Customer service experience matters more than mining experience. Airport attendant roles often want an HR licence.
