Kalgoorlie FIFO Jobs

-

Kalgoorlie is the capital of the Goldfields and the busiest mining town in Western Australia. The Super Pit sits on the edge of town, and gold and nickel mines run in every direction: Kambalda to the south, Coolgardie and Davyhurst to the west, and the Leonora and Laverton districts to the north. Much of the workforce is residential, but the mines outside town run FIFO from Perth and DIDO from Kalgoorlie itself.

The jobs

Ora Banda Mining has listed a processing trainer at Davyhurst, north west of Kalgoorlie, on an 8/6 roster. The district as a whole recruits underground operators, jumbo and bogger crews, processing plant operators, mill and crusher trades, boilermakers, electricians, fitters, surveyors and geologists. Kalgoorlie is also a training hub, with trainee and entry level roles more common than in the Pilbara.

Getting in

Kalgoorlie has daily commercial flights from Perth and is about six hours by road, which is why DIDO from Perth is offered on some rosters. Underground gold experience is the most valuable ticket in the region.
