FIFO Plumbing Jobs

Villages, workshops, processing plants and site offices all need plumbers, both to maintain what is there and to build what is coming. Maintenance plumbers look after the water, wastewater and gas systems of a camp with hundreds of rooms. Construction plumbers install the services on new plant and new accommodation.

What employers ask for

A Certificate III in Plumbing and a plumbing licence for the state, with gas fitting and backflow endorsements valued. Village work wants experience with transportable accommodation and package treatment plants. Construction work wants industrial plumbing experience and often a working at heights and confined space ticket. A manual licence, police clearance and medical apply as always.

Rosters

Maintenance plumbers at villages run 2:1 or 8/6 in WA and 14/7 in Queensland, hired by the village operator or a facilities contractor. Construction plumbers run project rosters, commonly 3:1 or 4:1 for a fixed term.
