Darwin FIFO Jobs
Darwin is the departure point for FIFO work across the Top End: gold in the Tanami and Pine Creek regions, manganese on Groote Eylandt, bauxite at Gove, zinc at McArthur River, and the offshore gas fields in the Timor Sea. Camp operators, drilling contractors and the miners themselves all fly crews out of Darwin.
The jobs
Sodexo has listed hospitality and utility workers for remote sites ex Darwin on a 14:7 roster. Camp roles like these are the most regular Darwin listings, with mine operator, trades, drill and blast and processing roles appearing as the NT projects hire. Offshore roles run on their own rosters and need offshore survival tickets.
Getting in
NT sites use the metalliferous induction. Camp roles need a police check, medical and food safety certificates, and Darwin's hospitality workforce moves into village work easily. The wet season, from November to April, shapes rosters and access at many sites.
