Offshore FIFO Jobs

Offshore work is FIFO with a helicopter at the end of it. The oil and gas platforms and floating production vessels off the north west coast of Western Australia, and the platforms in Bass Strait, run on rotational crews that fly from Perth, Karratha, Broome or Sale, then transfer by helicopter to the facility. Rotations are commonly 3:3 or 4:4.

What employers ask for

Offshore has its own entry requirements on top of the trade or operator skills: a current offshore medical (OGUK or equivalent), a BOSIET or TBOSIET survival course with helicopter underwater escape, and an MSIC card for the ports. Trades need their Australian licence and often hazardous area (EEHA) competencies for electrical work. Employers state the exact set in the listing.

The roles

Production operators, mechanical and electrical technicians, instrument technicians, crane operators, scaffolders, riggers, medics and catering crews. The operators and their main maintenance contractors hire directly, and only direct employers appear on this board.
