Orica is looking for a Field Maintenance Technician to support its blasting services operation at Mount Isa in north-west Queensland. The role is FIFO on an 8/6 roster from Brisbane, Cairns or Townsville. You will keep Orica's mobile and fixed plant reliable in the field, working closely with site crews and the client. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and fix mechanical breakdowns on mobile and fixed plant
- Carry out scheduled servicing, repairs and maintenance
- Support site teams with equipment reliability and performance
- Identify risks and keep operations safe and compliant
- Contribute to maintenance planning and continuous improvement
- Engage with the client on site and provide hands-on support
About You
- Able to fault-find and repair heavy vehicles or plant equipment
- Strong safety commitment and compliance awareness
- Comfortable working independently in the field with a problem-solving focus
- Valid driver's licence
- Helpful but can be learned: Volvo truck or mining equipment experience, auto electrical exposure, explosives compliance (AEC, ADG, MPU, AS2187), an HR licence, and a Queensland Explosives Security Clearance or willingness to obtain one
