BHP is hiring an Electrical Technician for the hoisting systems at Olympic Dam, Australia's largest underground mine, about 560 km north of Adelaide. The roster is 7/7 rotating days and nights, and you can live residentially in Roxby Downs, fly in and out from Adelaide, or drive in and out if that suits. Key Responsibilities
- Keep the hoisting systems reliable through planned and unplanned maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults that affect equipment performance
- Carry out inspections and checks on fixed plant assets
- Update maintenance schedules and asset information
- Work with operations teams on equipment status and priorities
- Look for continuous improvement opportunities
About You
- Australian-recognised electrical trade qualification
- South Australian A-Class Electrical Workers Licence, or the ability to obtain one
- Maintenance experience with solid troubleshooting skills and a proactive safety mindset
- An advantage: hoisting or critical infrastructure exposure, PLC ladder logic and industrial control systems, underground mining or heavy industry background, Working at Heights and Integrated Tool Carrier tickets, and SAP maintenance systems
