About the Role

BHP is looking for qualified electricians to join the Reticulation Team at Olympic Dam, the copper, uranium, gold and silver operation near Roxby Downs in South Australia. The team installs and maintains the underground electrical and communications backbone that keeps the mine running. The role works a 7/7 rotating day and night roster, with three ways to get there: FIFO from Adelaide, DIDO from regional South Australia, or living in Roxby Downs. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and breakdown installation and modification work on underground electrical and communication networks
  • Help resolve electrical faults that affect equipment performance and availability
  • Follow site standards and procedures so every job is done safely
  • Update work requests with an accurate scope to support planning
  • Give supervisors regular feedback on job progress and improvement ideas
  • Contribute to root cause analysis on equipment reliability issues
  • Keep work areas clean and well organised

About You

  • Current South Australian A Class electrical licence
  • Current driver's licence
  • Working at heights and integrated tool carrier tickets are an advantage, and a dogging HRWL is desirable
  • Electrical experience in mining or minerals processing is preferred
  • Comfortable working on your own or in a team, and willing to speak up on safety
  • Able to pass BHP's pre-employment checks, including a medical and drug and alcohol testing
