Underground Production Engineer | Granny Smith near Laverton | 8/6 FIFO

Gold Fields is looking for an experienced Production Engineer to join the mining team at its Granny Smith underground gold mine near Laverton in WA's northern Goldfields. The role is permanent on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, at a mine with a life of more than ten years ahead of it. You will report to the Senior Engineer, Mine Production, and look after the production side of the underground operation, turning short and medium term plans into work the crews can deliver.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and roll out weekly, monthly and quarterly production plans that meet operating targets
- Make sure stope designs and the drill and blast plans that follow get the most ore out with the least dilution
- Lead the technical and operational mining team and keep everyone working to the same goals
- Communicate plans clearly between the engineering office and the crews underground
About You
- A Bachelor of Engineering in mining or an equivalent qualification
- Proven hard rock underground experience, ideally in gold, across all production phases including ventilation
- Drill and blast experience, ideally with longhole open stoping or inclined room and pillar methods
- Deswik CAD and UGDB experience is highly regarded
