Gold Fields is hiring a permanent Nipper for the underground mine at Granny Smith, near Laverton in Western Australia's northern Goldfields. The role is FIFO from Perth on a rotating roster of 8/6 on day shift and 7/7 on night shift, with a direct flight of about an hour to an hour and a half. You will support the production and development crews underground and report to the Underground Shift Supervisor. It is physical, fast paced work and a recognised pathway into underground operator roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Support underground crews with equipment deliveries, waste removal and general assistance
- Help with ground support work such as bolting and meshing
- Offsider for jumbo operators, including heading set up and service crew tasks
- Complete pre-start checks, report hazards and keep work areas tidy
- Turn up fit for work every rostered shift and back a strong safety culture
About You
- Underground mining experience is required, ideally as a Nipper or truck driver
- Physically fit and used to demanding work environments
- Strong safety focus, teamwork and clear communication
- Current manual driver licence
- Current Dangerous Goods Security Card and Working at Heights ticket
- Able to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance
