South32About the Role
South32 is looking for a permanent Auto Electrician at Cannington, its underground silver and lead mine in north west Queensland. The role runs on a 7/7 day and night roster. You can fly in from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns to the site airstrip, or drive in from the Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires. You will keep the surface and underground mobile fleet running. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair and rebuild surface and underground mobile mining equipment
- Carry out routine servicing and inspections on heavy mobile plant, light vehicles, electric vehicles and forklifts
- Respond to vehicle and equipment breakdowns
- Diagnose and repair vehicle air conditioning systems
- Fault find on advanced auto electrical circuits and control systems
About You
- Trade qualified Auto Electrician
- Refrigerant Handling Licence
- Current C class driver licence
- Experience with Caterpillar, Sandvik, Normet or Volvo underground equipment
- Strong diagnostic skills on mobile mining equipment electrics and software
- A proactive, safety first approach to your work
