Key Responsibilities
- Operate raise bore rigs to complete planned raises safely and on schedule
- Set up, align and commission rigs and the gear that goes with them
- Install drill strings, cutters and reaming assemblies
- Run pre-start checks and routine maintenance on raise bore equipment
- Watch drilling performance and ground conditions and adjust parameters as needed
- Handle rods, breakout and reaming work, and report hazards and equipment faults
- Work with supervisors, engineers and underground crews to hit production targets
About You
- Previous experience as a Raise Bore Driller in underground mining
- Solid knowledge of raise boring methods, ground control and drilling operations
- Able to fix operational and equipment problems quickly
- Relevant operating tickets and licences are highly regarded
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening and National Police Clearance
- Valid manual driver's licence and the right to work in Australia
