About the Role
Lynas Rare Earths is looking for an experienced Plant Metallurgist for its Mt Weld operation, about 35 km south of Laverton in Western Australia's north eastern Goldfields. The role is FIFO from Perth on an 8/6 roster. You will drive process improvement at the Mt Weld concentrator and support the production team. Applications close on 30 October 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver projects that cut variable costs, lift NdPr and DyTb recoveries and reduce residue
- Give metallurgical support for safe, stable and efficient plant operation
- Monitor performance and advise the production team
- Troubleshoot product quality, reagent use and recovery issues
- Keep metallurgical accounting and reporting accurate
- Manage process changes through management of change and lead lab investigations
- Mentor members of the process improvement team
About You
- Degree in chemical engineering or another relevant process engineering field
- Extensive experience in a chemical, petrochemical or mineral processing plant
- Strong problem solving, analysis and process optimisation skills
- WA C class manual driver licence
- Experience in comminution, flotation, dewatering, leaching or precipitation is highly regarded
