About the Role
South32 is hiring a Paramedic Nurse for its Cannington operation, about 800 km west of Townsville in north-west Queensland. This permanent role works an 8/6 roster, fly-in fly-out from Townsville or Brisbane on direct flights to the site airport. Cannington is remote, with no doctor or hospital close by, so you will be the first point of care for the workforce. Applications close on 13 November 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary healthcare and emergency treatment on site
- Respond to emergencies and coordinate Royal Flying Doctor Service retrievals
- Assess and treat work and non-work injuries and illness
- Run blood lead monitoring, drug and alcohol screening and vaccination programs
- Manage the site and village clinics and drive the 4WD ambulance
About You
- Bachelor of Nursing or BSc (Nursing) with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Advanced Life Support and Emergency Remote Care qualifications
- Drug and Alcohol Testing Officer qualification
- Remote emergency care plus ED or ICU experience
- Experience with fitness for work assessments and health surveillance
- Manual driver's licence
- Audiometry, spirometry and Cert IV Trainer and Assessor are desirable
