Mobile Fleet Trade Assistant | Olympic Dam | 7/7 FIFO/DIDO

About the Role

BHP is hiring a Trade Assistant for the Mobile Fleet Maintenance team at Olympic Dam, the underground copper, uranium, gold and silver operation about 560 km north of Adelaide. You will support the trades who keep the mine's mobile fleet running, on a 7/7 rotating day and night roster. The role can be worked FIFO from Adelaide, DIDO, or living locally in Roxby Downs. Key Responsibilities

• Assist tradespeople with planned, unplanned and breakdown maintenance on mobile equipment
• Follow site standards and procedures so every task is done safely
• Work through the weekly schedule and pick up unscheduled work as needed
• Escalate plant downtime issues to the right people quickly
• Update work requests with an accurate scope and record work in SAP
• Give shift supervisors regular updates and suggest improvements
• Contribute to root cause analysis on equipment reliability

About You

• Experience as a trades assistant or in a similar hands-on role in mining
• Rigging, dogging and crane tickets are an advantage
• Basic SAP user skills are desirable
• Current driver's licence
• A strong safety mindset and willingness to speak up
• Able to pass BHP's pre-employment checks, including a medical and drug and alcohol testing
