About the Role
BHP is looking for a Tool Store Assistant to support the Mobile Fleet Maintenance teams at Olympic Dam, the underground copper, uranium, gold and silver operation about 560 km north of Adelaide. You will run the tool store that keeps the maintenance crews equipped, on a 7/7 roster. The role is open as FIFO from Adelaide, DIDO, or residential in Roxby Downs. Applications close Friday 16 October 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day tooling needs for the maintenance teams
- Run stocktakes of tools and consumables and keep stock levels accurate
- Raise purchase requests and orders for repairable tools, consumables and replacements
- Track repairable tooling sent offsite and follow up returns
- Issue, receive and track tools in the MOTS system
- Request supplier quotes and help with procurement paperwork
- Receive deliveries, organise storage and keep the store clean and compliant
- Support workshop duties such as housekeeping and preparing tools for trades
About You
- Experience in a tool store, workshop, warehouse or trade assistant role is an advantage
- Good knowledge of tooling, mechanical equipment and consumables
- Confident with email, basic Excel and Word, and inventory spreadsheets
- Organised, accurate and able to prioritise your own work
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to pass BHP's pre-employment checks, including a medical and drug and alcohol testing
