About the Role
Teck is recruiting a Mill Mechanic for Red Dog Operations in northwest Alaska, one of the largest zinc mines in the world. This is a regular full-time role with fly in, fly out access on an even rotation of two weeks on and two weeks off, with an option of three weeks on and three off. Applications close on 22 October 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary machinery from layouts and drawings
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum and power transmission systems and PLCs
- Rebuild and align shafting, conveyors and other plant equipment
- Carry out lubrication, seal replacement and preventative maintenance
- Plan and prioritise work through the maintenance order system and coordinate with other trades
About You
- Journeyperson millwright, or seven or more years in heavy industrial maintenance covering pumps, conveyors, crushers and SAG and ball mills
- Able to work from engineering drawings
- Willing to work day, afternoon or night shifts outdoors in extreme climate
- Basic computer skills, and a driver's licence is desirable
- Able to pass a drug test, as Red Dog is a drug and alcohol free workplace
