About the Role
Teck is hiring an entry level Surface Operator for Red Dog Operations in northwest Alaska. It is a temporary full-time role on the surface crew, with fly in, fly out access on a two weeks on, two weeks off rotation. You will start on trash trucks, the bus and forklifts under a trainer and can progress through equipment such as graders, dozers and snow clearing gear. Applications close on 22 October 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Train on and operate the trash truck, bus, 966 forklift and bull fork under supervision
- Complete timesheets, walk-around inspections and equipment condition reports
- Communicate with operators and supervisors on tasks and shift handovers
- Follow MSHA and Red Dog safety and environmental procedures, including daily workplace inspections
About You
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's licence
- Able to lift 50 lb regularly and work outdoors in extreme climate
- Prior mining or similar experience is preferred but not required
- A team player who follows instructions and wants to progress
