Long Hole Driller | Dugald River near Cloncurry | 8/7 and 7/6 FIFO/BIBO

About the Role

MMG is hiring a production Long Hole Driller at its Dugald River underground zinc mine near Cloncurry in north west Queensland. The permanent full-time role runs on an 8/7 and 7/6 roster across days and nights, with fly in fly out from Townsville or Brisbane, or bus in bus out from Cloncurry or Mount Isa. You will report to the Production Shift Supervisor. Applications close on 24 October 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate long hole rigs for downhole and uphole drilling to the drill plan
• Drill holes for production stopes, paste fill and ground support
• Work with shift supervisors and technical services to hit production targets
• Keep records and give regular radio updates to mine control
• Inspect equipment, report defects and present rigs for servicing
• Work safely at heights and near open voids, and coach trainee drillers

About You

• More than two years of long hole drilling in an underground hard rock mine
• At least five years of underground mining experience
• Production stope drilling experience
• Sandvik long hole rig experience is an advantage
• A current Australian driver's licence and the ability to get a National Police Clearance
• First aid and working at heights tickets are a plus
