About the Role
Northern Star Resources is hiring a Light Vehicle Fitter for its Thunderbox gold operation in WA's northern Goldfields, north of Leinster. The role is permanent and runs on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, flying in and out of Perth only. You will report to the Light Vehicle Coordinator and keep the site's light vehicles and ancillary gear running between planned services, so the mobile maintenance team can hit its reliability targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out breakdown repairs, follow-up work, preventive maintenance and planned jobs on the light vehicle fleet safely and on time
- Service Toyota light vehicles, Isuzu light trucks and lighting towers
- Raise and manage the permits the work needs, including isolations, confined space, hot work and dig permits
- Take part in safety investigations and help put corrective actions in place
- Review scheduled work and suggest better ways of doing it
- Give input on the performance of mechanical apprentices where relevant
About You
- A mechanical trade qualification
- At least two years on a mine site as a light vehicle mechanic, ideally with Toyota fleet experience
- Good organisation and the ability to prioritise breakdown work
- A current Australian driver's licence; a refrigerant licence is a plus
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen and national police clearance, with the right to work in Australia
