About the Role
MACA Mining is hiring a Leading Hand Heavy Duty Fitter for its maintenance team at the Karlawinda Gold Project, 65 km south-east of Newman in the Pilbara. The role is permanent on a FIFO 2:1 roster of 7 days, 7 nights and 7 days off. You will lead a maintenance crew looking after the project's heavy mining fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide a crew of heavy duty fitters on shift
- Maintain and repair heavy mobile mining equipment, including Komatsu 1500 dump trucks, a D10 dozer, 16M grader, Hitachi EX3600 and Liebherr 9200 and 9300 excavators
- Make sure the team follows work health and safety procedures and policies
- Communicate clearly with the crew and the wider maintenance team
About You
- A heavy duty fitter trade qualification
- Previous mine site experience as a Leading Hand HD Fitter
- Experience on heavy mobile mining equipment such as Komatsu and CAT
- Confident leading a team, with strong communication and plenty of motivation
- A good working knowledge of WHS procedures and policies
- An HR driver's licence is preferred
