About the Role

Fortescue's Eliwana iron ore mine in the western Pilbara needs a Fixed Plant Mechanical Leading Hand for the maintenance team at its ore processing facility (OPF). The roster is seven day shifts, seven night shifts and then fourteen days off, FIFO from Perth. You will lead the mechanical maintainers on your crew, give them technical support, and keep planned and breakdown work on the crushers, screens and conveyors moving safely and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the mechanical maintainers on shift and hand out the day's work
  • Coordinate planned, corrective and breakdown maintenance across the fixed plant
  • Help with fault finding, component change-outs, overhauls and rebuilds
  • Complete work orders, notifications and maintenance records accurately in SAP
  • Run pre-starts, risk assessments and field interactions to keep work safe
  • Support shutdowns, equipment reliability and improvement projects

About You

  • Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical) or an equivalent trade
  • Fixed plant maintenance experience in mining or heavy industry
  • Previous leading hand, supervisory or senior trade experience
  • Solid knowledge of crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes and processing equipment
  • Strong fault finding and maintenance planning skills
  • A current C class driver's licence
  • A Schedule 26 statutory supervisor appointment, or the ability to obtain one, is highly regarded
