About the Role
Macmahon is hiring experienced Excavator Operators for its surface mining crews at the Tropicana gold operation in Western Australia. The role works a 2/1 roster across day and night shifts, flying in and out from Perth or Kalgoorlie. You will run large mining excavators in the 400 tonne and up class, loading the haul fleet safely and keeping production on target.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate large excavators safely and efficiently to meet production targets
- Complete pre-start checks and report hazards or equipment defects straight away
- Follow mine plans, supervisor instructions and traffic management rules
- Keep your work area tidy and manage interactions with other crews and equipment safely
- Support your crew, share knowledge and help build a strong team culture
About You
- Proven experience operating mining class excavators such as the CAT 6060, CAT 6040 or Hitachi 5600
- A strong safety focus and the confidence to speak up
- A reliable work ethic and a team first attitude
- Commitment to contributing to a positive site culture
