About the Role

Thiess is hiring a permanent full-time Boilermaker for its mining operation at the Gold Fields Gruyere Gold Project, about 200 km east of Laverton in Western Australia's Yamarna greenstone belt, on the lands of the Yilka people. The role is on a 2/1 roster (7 days, 7 nights, 7 days off) FIFO from Perth to the Gruyere mine, with the option of a paid early fly-in the day before day shift starts. Thiess runs load and haul, drill and blast, crushing and screening, and LV and HV maintenance at the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out repair and preventative maintenance on heavy mobile mining equipment
  • Complete tray relines, bucket rebuilds and structural repairs
  • Guide and assist the maintenance team and juggle changing priorities
  • Make sure work health and safety procedures are followed
  • Keep maintenance paperwork complete and to a high standard
  • Take a proactive approach to quality work on every job

About You

  • An Australian recognised trade certificate
  • Extensive MEM mine site experience
  • Tray reline, bucket refurbishment and repair experience
  • HR driver's licence and a current Australian driver's licence
  • Working Safely at Heights certificate, with EWP and DG high risk licences desirable
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical, ongoing drug and alcohol testing and a National Police Clearance
  • Good communication, self motivation and sound knowledge of safety procedures
