About the Role
BHP is hiring a permanent, full-time Emergency Services Officer for Prominent Hill, its copper and gold mine about 650 km north-west of Adelaide in South Australia. The site runs underground and surface operations, and a shaft project is extending its mine life to at least 2040. The role is FIFO ex Adelaide or Port Augusta on a roster of 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on and 7 days off. Applications close at 5pm on Monday 2 November 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to fire, rescue, hazardous materials and medical emergencies on the surface and underground
- Inspect, test and maintain emergency response equipment so it is always ready
- Plan, run and take part in emergency exercises and training
- Carry out field safety checks and verify critical controls
- Support the site's health and safety programs
About You
- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue, or equivalent
- Certificate IV in Health Care or higher
- HR and C class driver's licences
- AHPRA registration as a paramedic or registered nurse is highly regarded
- Underground experience and drug and alcohol testing qualifications are highly regarded
