About the Role
BHP's Mobile Maintenance Workshop in Newman is recruiting trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Fitters on a permanent basis. The roster is 8 days on, 6 off, followed by 7 nights on, 7 off, flying in and out of Perth. You will work on the Pilbara iron ore surface fleet, including CAT 793F haul trucks and CAT 785 water carts, keeping some of the largest mining equipment in the country running.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on heavy surface mining equipment
- Diagnose faults, then repair and service diesel engines on CAT 793F trucks and CAT 785 water carts
- Support continuous improvement through procedure updates and root cause analysis
- Work as part of a crew that puts safety first on every job
About You
- Australian trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Fitter
- Able to commit to the 8/6 and 7/7 rotating roster on a FIFO basis from Perth
- Prior mining or heavy industry exposure preferred
- Caterpillar equipment experience and mobile plant diagnostics highly regarded
- A team player with a strong commitment to safe work
