Boilermaker (Smelter) | Olympic Dam | 7/7 FIFO/DIDO

About the Role

BHP's Olympic Dam surface maintenance team needs a qualified boilermaker for the smelter plant, about 560 km north of Adelaide in South Australia. The role is a 12 month fixed term contract on a 7/7 rotating day and night roster. You can fly in and fly out from Adelaide, drive in and drive out from regional South Australia, or live in Roxby Downs. Applications close on 30 October 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, unplanned and breakdown maintenance in the smelter
• Follow maintenance standards, procedures and safe work practices on every job
• Work with operations crews to find, escalate and fix causes of downtime
• Keep supervisors updated on job progress and new issues
• Take part in troubleshooting and improvements to procedures and plant performance

About You

• Australian recognised trade qualification as a boilermaker or in a related mechanical trade
• Fabrication, maintenance and repair experience in a mining, processing or heavy industrial setting
• Good computer skills and some exposure to a maintenance system, with SAP an advantage
• Experience in hazardous areas and on shift work is highly regarded
• A strong safety focus and tidy work habits
