About the Role
Evolution Mining is looking for an Automation Technician at Ernest Henry Operations near Cloncurry in north west Queensland. The role works on an 8/6 roster and can be done FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns with camp accommodation on site, or as a residential role living in Cloncurry. It sits between automation, networks and heavy equipment, supporting an underground loader fleet that runs on autonomous and semi-autonomous systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot underground automation systems such as Sandvik AutoMine and fleet management platforms
- Find faults across hardware, software, network and operational systems
- Support the underground Wi-Fi and communications network
- Install and commission automation equipment and infrastructure
- Watch system performance through telemetry, video feeds and machine health data
- Run autonomous operations from surface control when needed
- Work with mining, maintenance and IT teams to keep production moving and improve automation performance
About You
- A trade or degree in electrical, automation, mechatronics, IT and networking or a related field
- A background such as mining auto electrician, underground communications or network technician, electrician with automation exposure, or radio and telecommunications technician
- Experience in mining, heavy industry or industrial settings
- Strong fault finding skills and an understanding of Wi-Fi, TCP/IP networks or control systems
- Comfortable working hands-on in the field under production pressure
- Experience with AutoMine, Epiroc Mobius or CAT Command is highly regarded
