About the Role
Westfill is looking for experienced underground drill fitters for new projects in Western Australia. The position works a 2:2 roster on day shift only, on a FIFO basis out of Perth, and reports to the Maintenance Superintendent. Westfill offers the choice of casual or full time employment, and the ad quotes pay from $90 depending on experience and project.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot and carry out major repairs on underground drill rigs and related equipment
- Find and fix hydraulic, mechanical and electrical faults
- Run preventative maintenance to cut downtime and lift efficiency
- Give technical support and mentoring to apprentices and other tradespeople
- Follow safety regulations and company procedures
- Keep accurate records of repairs, services and parts used
About You
- At least three years of underground drilling maintenance experience
- Hands-on experience with Sandvik drills such as the DD421, DL421, DL431 and DD422i
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostic skills
- Good problem solving, a team mindset and the ability to adapt to remote sites
