About the Role

South32 is hiring a permanent Supervisor Processing Services at Cannington, its underground silver and lead mine and processing plant about 800 km west of Townsville in north-west Queensland. The role works an 8:6 roster, with FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville straight to the onsite airport, or DIDO from the Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires. You will run processing services work safely and efficiently and lead both employees and contractors at the front line. Applications close on 11 November 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make sure processing services work is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with requirements
  • Lead and support employees and contractors day to day
  • Run prestarts, field verifications and work quality checks
  • Keep track of schedules, equipment availability and operational constraints
  • Coordinate priorities with the processing, maintenance, mining and technical services teams
  • Review contractor performance and support improvement plans

About You

  • Experience in mineral processing or mining operations, including earthworks and material handling
  • A track record leading operational teams and contractors
  • Experience with ROM management and heavy vehicle operations
  • Strong communication, coaching and decision-making skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders
  • A current Class C driver's licence
