Superintendent Pastefill | Prominent Hill | 8/6 FIFO

About the Role

BHP is looking for a Superintendent Pastefill at Prominent Hill, its copper and gold mine about 650 km north west of Adelaide. The role is on an 8/6 FIFO roster flying from Adelaide. You will own the whole pastefill chain, from making the paste and checking its quality to pumping it through the reticulation system and placing fill underground. You report to the Manager Ramp Up while a shaft project grows the underground mine. Applications close on 12 November 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop frontline leaders, technical specialists and paste operations crews
• Set, run and improve the pastefill operating strategy
• Lift system reliability and performance through improvement programs
• Work with processing, underground, maintenance and technical services teams to keep fill delivery on plan
• Build a team culture where safety and discipline come first

About You

• Leadership experience in mining, mineral processing, fixed plant or similar heavy industry
• A strong record in health, safety, environment and risk management
• Experience running reliability and performance programs in complex operations
• Clear communication with both operational and technical teams
• Willingness to complete BHP's pre-employment checks, which can include police, medical, drug and alcohol, and right to work checks
