Superintendent Block Cave Mining | Carrapateena | 8/6 FIFO

About the Role

BHP is recruiting a Superintendent Block Cave Mining for Carrapateena, its underground copper and gold mine about 160 km north of Port Augusta in South Australia. The site is moving from sub level caving to a block cave, and this senior leader will help build it. The role works an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster, with Carrapateena about an hour's flight from Adelaide or 30 minutes from Port Augusta. BHP can help with relocation. Key Responsibilities

• Managing the execution strategy for block cave and sub level cave development, including raisebore work
• Working with planning teams on mine design, schedules and delivery of the mine plan
• Owning health and safety, production and cost performance for the area
• Leading quality assurance for development work, including mass excavations
• Building a strong team and standing in for the Block Cave Mine Manager when needed

About You

• Experience executing an operational block cave project
• A background in senior technical and operational roles, ideally with an engineering degree in a relevant discipline
• Proven leadership of teams in complex operational and project settings
• Commercial and financial awareness and a project delivery mindset
• Strong communication and the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders
