About the Role

BHP's Western Australia Iron Ore training team is hiring a Specialist Trainer for its Newman operations. You will run theory and practical training and assessments for processing plant, fixed plant maintenance, high risk equipment and autonomous systems. The role is FIFO from Perth or Busselton on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, day shift only. It can also be filled residentially by someone already living in Newman, but relocation is not offered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver training plans, then train and assess technicians across processing and fixed plant
  • Run performance verifications against standards at the frontline and coach others in assessment
  • Work with supervisors to build capability in their crews and track crew performance
  • Coordinate internal training for customers and provide administrative support to the training team
  • Keep safety, compliance and operational standards front of mind in every session

About You

  • Assessor Skill Set or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
  • Current C class driver's licence, with HR or MC desirable
  • A High Risk Work Licence in at least one class such as forklift, EWP, dogging, basic rigging or non-slewing crane
  • Experience with large surface mobile equipment, processing plant or fixed plant maintenance is highly regarded
  • Experience in an autonomous operation and strong organisational and reporting skills
  • Able to pass police, medical, drug and alcohol and right to work checks
